Edward Lowe Foundation to ring NASDAQ closing bell
To celebrate its new Institute for Exceptional Growth Companies (IEGC), the Edward Lowe Foundation will ring the NASDAQ Stock Market Closing Bell on Tuesday, Oct. 4. The ceremony will take place at the NASDAQ MarketSite Studio in New York at 3:45 p.m.
New startups are often billed as the stars of economic growth. Yet according to a paper being released by the Edward Lowe Foundation, it’s actually existing, expanding companies that contribute most to U.S. job creation. In fact, from 1990 to 2008, existing companies generated 71 percent more new jobs than startups.

The Council for Community and Economic Research (C2ER) has recognized the Edward Lowe Foundation for excellence in economic development research. The foundation was honored for YE+, a subscription platform on its YourEconomy.org website that provides researchers with advanced capabilities for tracking business activity and job growth.
